When I decided to get a Direct Choice Insurance, I was under the belief that it is one of the best car insurance companies around. It is definitely quite cheap but the fact that does not come out always is that Direct Choice is actually a lender of loan and appropriate charges are levied on the customers in case of early cancellations. When I had to cancel my insurance because of certain medical reasons, they showed no sympathy towards me and asked me to pay the outstanding loan amount, in spite of the fact that I would no longer hold a policy with them. This was definitely way too harsh on me. The most deceiving part is that they never care to explain that they are lenders of loan and not insurance policies. It is this deception that is used by small companies for making money. Sticking with other companies such as Direct Line would be a better decision for you any day as compared to Direct Choice. If I had been with them, I would not have had to pay anything.

Recently it turned out that I had to get my insurance policy updated by changing my wife’s license from temporary to full. Direct Choice made a quotation of £33 for doing that. This was quite surprising as one is required to pay more after bettering their driving skills. I decided to call them for the purpose of updating the files. During the conversation, I made sure with them no charges will be levied for updating the files. After the passage of 5 days, I received a letter concerning cancellation of my policy because of my failure in informing the changes to them. I lodged a complaint with the supervisors but they were not at all interested in listening to my queries or checking their phone conversations’ recordings. I have requested Financial Ombudsman for helping me in sorting out this issue. Believe me when I say, “Direct Choice is a rubbish company and it should be avoided under all kinds of circumstances”.
